Harris Morrill Memorial Scholarship

Established in 1993, this endowed scholarship honors the memory of Dick Harris and John Morrill. The scholarship is made possible by contributions from friends, the Colorado Broadcasters Association, and the Harris family.


History:

John Morrill was a sports enthusiast who played sports in high school and college, and his interest in sports spurred his broadcasting career. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He functioned in many capacities in the sports broadcast industry and as Program Director and Station Manager for broadcasting businesses. He served as Executive Director of the Colorado Broadcaster Association and is credited with building the organization and its national reputation for excellence.

Criteria:
  • Awarded to an outstanding undergraduate student in the Department of Speech Communication
