Melanie Richards Metz Memorial Scholarship

Established in 1997, this scholarship honors the memory of Melanie Richards Metz.


History:
Melanie Richards Metz, a talented designer and teacher, taught graphic design courses at Colorado State University for many years. She also operated a successful graphic design business in the Fort Collins community for 17 years. Generous gifts such as this one allow us to provide financial support for students who have demonstrated superior achievements or skills, thereby encouraging their continued efforts and the overall atmosphere of vigorous research and creativity.
Criteria:
  • Applicant must be a major in the Department of Art with a graphic design concentration
  • Demonstrate creativity and originality, as well as possess energy and love of graphic design
  • Must be motivated, and have a desire to excel and learn in their chosen field of study
Apply:
All graphic design, Art majors are automatically considered. If you are a finalist for this scholarship, you will be contacted in February to submit a three-piece portfolio in March. Any questions about Art scholarships should be directed to the department at 970 491 6774.
