Biography

Maia Jackson is a second year MS graduate student in the Department of Journalism and Technical Communication at Colorado State University. Maia previously completed a BA in Anthropology from CSU. She has professional experience creating outreach programs and communication materials for Native American populations in Montana, and currently works in the communications department for the City of Fort Collins specializing in strategic communication and messaging for environmental programs. This background provides her with a unique perspective in her current studies. Maias research interests include: public relations, strategic communication, environmental controversy, community mobilization, critical/cultural theory, and qualitative methods. She is currently a Graduate Teaching Assistant for JTC 100: Media and Society.
