Bio

Lynn Hempel is Assistant Professor of Sociology.  She earned her M.Sc. in Sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science and her Ph.D in Sociology from Duke University.  Her research focuses on social boundaries and social inequality, with specific emphasis to race, ethnicity, and religion.  Her work has been published in Social Forces, Ethnic and Racial Studies, Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, and International Journal of Comparative Sociology.
