Sociology alumna, Alyssa Dawson, helping coordinate benefit event for Matthews House
Sociology | October 28, 2013
A benefit event for the Matthews House in Fort Collins is being coordinated by Alyssa Dawson, who is a recent BA and MA recipient from the Sociology Department. The event, titled “Bodacious Video Jam DJ”, is quickly becoming a well-known favorite event in Fort Collins. This year will be their 4th Annual Hoopla for Hope and it will highlight the dance styles, signature cocktails, foods, music and fashion from the 1980′s. We’ll dance the night away in an effort to raise money for youth and families who lack significant support and skills to transition to self-sufficiency.
Some highlights include:
- Live Video Jam/ Music DJ Homeboy
- Schweet entertainment
- 80s Photobooth
- Themed cocktails, Odell Brewery, Snowy Peaks Winery, and appetizers
- High-quality silent and live auction items
- Costume contest, prizes and give-aways and dancing, dancing, dancing!
Last year over $15,000 was raised at this event to benefit the Matthews House programs that help youth and families in transition to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency!
