Sociology | October 07, 2013
Meghan Mordy, Ph.D. Candidate in Sociology and CDRA research assistant, was awarded a Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant by the National Science Foundation. The grant supports her dissertation research on “Poverty, Middle School Dropout, and High School Completion in El Salvador.” Meghan has also received past support from the Midwest Sociological Society and the Rural Sociological Society.
Meghan’s project is a multi-year qualitative study which employs ethnographic fieldwork and in-depth interviews with youth ages 11-18. Her dissertation examines the factors that put poor youth at risk for dropout in El Salvador. Please join me in congratulating Meghan for being awarded a NSF grant!
