Colorado State University Presents the 2014 Spring Dance Tea

03.13.14-DanceTea-Poster-FinalThe University Center for the Arts at Colorado State University presents the 2014 Spring Dance Tea on Wednesday, March 26, 3:30 p.m. in the University Dance Theatre at the University Center of the Arts, 1400 Remington St.

This event is free and open to the public.

The annual Spring Dance Tea is an opportunity for Colorado State University’s dance program to invite the public to a more informal afternoon event. The Dance Tea is meant to showcase what the students are doing in preparation for the upcoming spring concerts.

Refreshments will be provided during a meet and greet following the performance, where the audience will be given a chance to talk to students about their work, the performance, and any plans or goals the students might have following their time at CSU.

The performance itself will last one hour. The program includes two sections of a historical reconstruction from Anna Sokolow’s most famous works. CSU’s ballet repertory ensemble will also be performing some of their work, as well as professor Chung-Fu Chang’s choreography students. Professor Carol Roderick’s outreach program will also be performing, which includes CSU students as well as children from the High Country Conservatory of Dance.

“It’s springtime! It’s a great way in which we invite people over to the UCA for some fun and performances,” notes Jane Slusarski-Harris, CSU’s Director of Dance. “It’s a wonderful time to showcase our students and give people an opportunity to learn more about our program.”

The University Center for the Arts at Colorado State University provides an enriched venue in which the study and practice of Art, Dance, Music and Theatre are nurtured and sustained by building the skills and knowledge needed by future generations of arts professionals to become contributors to the essential vitality of our culture and society.
