Kids Do It All, one of the most innovative theatre programs in the country, was founded in 1991 at The Children’s School in La Jolla, Calif. by Walt Jones. This summer kids ages 7 – 13 will work in age appropriate groups to write, design and act in plays entirely of their own creation.
Colorado State University theatre faculty and graduate students, as well as theatre professionals who have worked in New York and in Los Angeles in theatre and television, show the kids how to do everything it takes to mount a fully-staged play in just one week: acting, writing, improvisation, design, song composition – anything it takes to realize their ideas.
In addition to learning skills such as speech & voice projection, dance & movement, set & prop design, stage combat & vaudeville tricks, kids also get a head start in the critical areas of self-esteem, self-worth, working with others, collective problem solving, sense of community and public presence.
