CSU Symphony Takes to the Outdoors!

With CSU Faculty Chris Van Hof, Trombone

With a program of Two Mountain Scenes, written about Colorado from an outstanding young composer, Kevin Puts; a terrific new Trombone Concerto by master arranger and conductor Jeff Tyzik; and the beloved Pastorale Symphony of Beethoven – this concert, conducted by Wes Kenney, is a terrific way to start out the season!

Two Mountain Scenes was commissioned by Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival and the New York Philharmonic in celebration of the Festival’s 20th anniversary.  It was premiered by the Philharmonic conducted by Bramwell Tovey at New York’s Avery Fisher Hall on July 3, 2007 and performed again at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, Vail Valley, Colorado on July 25, 2007. Listen and read more from the composer.
