Prerequisite: Any lower-level E prefix course.

Description:  Students will be introduced to the essential elements of good writing, focusing on fiction and poetry. This course will define and illustrate, through careful analytical readings and discussion, the elements, forms and techniques of fiction and poetry. Students will practice these elements in their own writing, producing approximately 15-10 pages of revised fiction (short story forms) and several revised poems. Suggested outline:
