Film Screening & Author Q&A: David Shields

David Shields is a bestselling nonfiction author and culture critic whose work has been published in 20 languages and whose 2010 manifesto, Reality Hunger, was a best book of the year in over 30 publications. He is the author of 20 books, including Reality HungerWar Is Beautiful, and Other People: Takes & Mistakes. The recipient of Guggenheim and NEA fellowships, Shields has published essays and stories in the New York Times Magazine, Harper’s, Esquire and many more. His new collection of essays, Other People, will be published in Feb. 2017 by Knopf.

I Think You’re Totally Wrong is a film adaptation of his 2015 book, starring Shields and one of his former students in a weekend-long dialog about art and life, in the style of My Dinner with Andre. The film was directed by the actor and writer James Franco.
